Manuscript Appraisal
Truth is, you need a professional’s evaluation of your manuscript and not one from your family or friends, or even your writers’ group. This review, either in whole or in part, of a manuscript considers the structural strengths and weaknesses. This high-level overview and analysis gauges the effectiveness of the narrative and mechanics, as well as essential craft elements. This review includes a detailed manuscript evaluation multi-page letter and light markup of salient, relevant points within the manuscript, including the rationale behind various suggestions. A manuscript appraisal can be invaluable in preparing your project for publishing success

Developmental Editing
Developmental editing is far more comprehensive than a manuscript evaluation; it is an in-depth editing process that takes significantly more time. If you have a book in progress or have completed a first draft and don’t yet have the cohesive story you intended, then a developmental edit is right for you. I will review what is, and what is not working in your story and ask questions as to intent and efficacy.
I will highlight writing that may be improved and make suggestions of how to accomplish these and other “big picture” improvements, all the while ensuring the story arc, narrative logic, flow, pace, character development, dialogue, setting and environmental description are in their best form. At the end of the developmental editing process, you will have an editorial report that details areas of success and improvement. You also will have detailed notes within the manuscript.

Copy Editing
This level of editing is for manuscripts that have been completed. These books are structurally sound but could benefit from continuity and detailed editing. This process ensures the manuscript adheres to the established publishing and genre style, and takes a detailed approach at editing for errors in sentence structure, spelling and punctuation.

Please carefully read the following terms and conditions relating to your purchase of one-on-one coaching with Laurie L. Dove. By registering for services, you agree to the terms and conditions below. If you do not consent to these terms and conditions, you should not purchase services.
General Terms & Conditions
You understand that I have made every opportunity to adequately represent the services offered and the potential outcomes. Services are designed to provide insight of the writing process and coach writers in achieving their writing goals. However, individual results and success may vary depending upon many factors, including—but not limited to—writing skill, command of grammar and language, competency, knowledge, ability, commitment, and goals. I cannot and do not make any guarantees, representations, or warranties regarding any results or outcomes from your participation in services. By registering for the services, you agree that, I shall not be held liable for any direct, indirect, punitive, special, incidental or other consequential damages, or any other economic loss arising directly or indirectly from services.
Any content review provided does not replace professional editing.
Payment
Payment in full will be received by Laurie L. Dove no later than three (3) business days before date of commencement of services. Any scheduled services will be postponed until funds clear and payment is made in full. In the case of payments made in installments, services will be scheduled after each installment is received.
You understand that, by registering for services, you are claiming one of a limited number of spaces available. Any and all payments made in connection with services secure your space to the exclusion of another, said payments are therefore, considered non-refundable.
Should the situation so warrant, as in cases of unforeseen travel or illness, a full or partial refund of fees is solely at my discretion, should cancelled calls not be rescheduled and the coaching package cannot be completed.
Scheduling of services will be done through a digital calendar and is booked based on the mutual availability of the parties. At times, illness or travel may require a call to be cancelled or rescheduled. Rescheduled calls will not incur additional fees.
Confidentiality
You understand and agree that the tools, materials, and information presented within my services are my confidential, copyrighted, and the proprietary information, and that you will not record, duplicate, distribute, teach or train from the materials without my express written permission. Any unauthorized use or distribution of this Intellectual Property is prohibited and may result in further legal action.
Relationship Between Parties
I am an independent contractor and nothing in these terms will be construed as establishing an employment or agency relationship between us.
Acknowledgment of Terms & Conditions
Payment of fees for services will be considered Acknowledgment of Terms and Conditions described above.
